How to configure MPlayer Plugin to use a second sound device? Using SuSE 10.0 (Linux 2.6.13-15.15-smp) I connected a Xitel HiFi-Link. This is an USB soundevice which can be connected to your home stereo. Using YaST SuSE generated /dev/dsp1 and /dev/mixer1 (alongside the normal /dev/dsp and /dev/mixer). I succeeded in configuring several soundplayers to use this device and it works. E.g. I configured the MPlayer program: right mouse button > Preferences tab Audio in the table of Available drivers select oss en click Configure driver fill the items Device: /dev/dsp1 and Mixer /dev/mixer1 click OK click OK restart Mplayer I can find the results of the above in $HOME/.mplayer/gui.conf: ao_oss_mixer = "/dev/mixer1" ao_oss_device = "/dev/dsp1" And now for MPlayer Plugin (3.31-0.pm.2) in Firefox (1.0.6-16). This still uses the standard sound device so it seems to have a different configuration file(s). http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/config.php mentions $HOME/.mplayer/mplayerplug-in.conf and which parameters can be entered there. The two paremeters mentioned above are not in the list. I tried them out anyhow, but now no sound at all, so I removed that. Is there any possibility to configure The MPlayer Plugin to use other devices and how is it done. Thanks for looking into this problem. -- Henk van Velden ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
