The size of the window is handled around line 974 in plugin-threads.c

make sure that when you mplayer runs a video it outputs a line like this

VO: [x11] 512x384 => 512x384 Planar YV12

this line is parsed and that is how the size of video is set. Perhaps
your mplayer is not outputting that line in either that format or not at
all?

It has been awhile since I have tested mplayerplug-in on Solaris, but I
know it used to work, If this problem persists, I'll have to fire up my
Ultra 1.
