Typically, when you see orphans like this you might try recompiling
mplayer. I've seen in the past were this has corrected this problem on
my machines. I don't know why it works, but it does seem to fix it.

Could be a memory leak in mplayerplug-in. I know I have fixed some leaks
in the past, but I'm not sure all of them are fixed and leaks would be
reported in the firefox process space.
