No, tabbed browsing is completely what MultiZilla is about.  However, 
you can install MZ and make it unobtrusive by setting the prefs to 
open windows rather than tabs for everything that you want and close 
the MZ toolbar from View -> Show/Hide -> MultiZilla toolbar

There are plans to make QuickPrefs available separately (bug 4390 -- 
http://mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=4390 ), but this may not 
happen any time soon.
