If that doesn't work, then try deleting XUL.mfl (if you're on Linux, then it's got a slightly different name). The final thing to try if this doesn't work is to delete localstore.rdf in your profile directory. This will mean that you lose things like window size settings, button settings etc, but that's easy enough to fix. If none of those work, then try switching back to Modern and back again (rebooting between each switch).
