FW: Bookmarks won't close

Two  difficulties encountered this past week since Multizilla v 1.7.7.0d 
installation on Moz 1.7.8 with WinXP SP2:

1)    Receiving a few popups daily which virtually never occurred 
before, and popup blocker is turned on.

2)    Bookmark drop down window: When additional drop downs are opened  
(sub-folders), they will not easily close -- one to three windows remain 
open even after opening Messenger on top of Navigator or opening Manage 
Bookmarks . Usually can get the first main long BM window to close; 
however, I click on the open windows several times and on other areas of 
the web page or Bookmark Manager and for some reason it will finally 
close the last one or two windows after about 10 clicks -- no rhyme or 
reason.  Has anyone else experienced this and is there a setting which 
might alleviate it?
