save session problems

I'm having difficulty setting this properly. I used to have Multizilla 
and wouldn't be without it now. But I had a problem with another 
extension and had to delete mozilla and reinstall. Previously when I 
closed a window I'd get a small message window asking if I wanted to 
save the session yes or no. Now *_if_ *I get something at all it's a 
large window showing my sessions and I can save, overwrite or skip.  
Half the time I get nothing and it overwrites what I had without asking. 
I have tried changing the options in Confirmations and Tab Sessions to 
no avail. I'm obviously missing something. I have version 1790 as 1810 
crashes my mozilla 1.7.8.

Help would be greatly appreciated.
