Hi Paul,

This feature (menu) was changed on:

As in changed, not removed, because it will be there when you hide your 
status bar (menu -> View -> Show/Hide -> Status Bar).

Just to clear up the thought of it being removed - thought it probably 
still feels like this, but anyway that's how things are right now.

We can change this, by adding a pref setting to make it appear at all 
time.  In fact I will do that right now ;)
