mac responsiveness

The mac builds from the last few days feel much less responsive than
they did at the beginning of the week. For example, I can see the app
redrawing screen regions under the apple-tab app-switching panel.
Seems like it could be a problem with the recent cairo landing. Anyone
else seeing this?
