Hi, I followed the instructions here: http://wiki.mozilla.org/StandaloneTalos to get the Talos test set up. I'm running into issues on getting the test set up going on Linux (Fedora 8). The firefox browser version on my machine is 2.0.0.10. The main issue that I'm running into is in the step on setting up local web page set using the proxy server method. Am I missing any other browser setup that is not included in http://wiki.mozilla.org/StandaloneTalos? Any pointers to resolve the errors is appreciated. Details of my set up is included below. thanks - mouli 1. Prerequisites [done] 2. Get the talos code [done] 3. Install new pageloader 1. Get code from CVS [done] 2. Edit generate-tpcomponent.py [No need to edit generate- tpcomponent.py, the fix is already there in the python script] 3. Run in talos/page_load_test with python generate-tpcomponent.py [this should be python ../../scripts/generate-tpcomponent.py and chrome and components are created now ] 4. Unzip the standalone [ done ] Setting up local web page set using the proxy server [ Issues here ] ---------------------------------------------------- 1. Prereq [done] 2. From the talos directory 1. Set up the proxy server as per cmd -> python standalone \proxyserver.py -p 9001 [ proxyserver runs and waits ] 2. In standalone/proxy_setup.config [changed firefox.exe to firefox to /usr/bin/firefox ] 3. Run the tests once from the talos directory python run_tests.py standalone/proxy_setup.config [ Running this as a normal user, I get the error "Permission denied: /usr/bin/chrome" I tried running as root. The script attempted to shutdown the browser, but encountered error. Running test tp: fails with the message "couldn't initialize firefox", and finally with the message failure to complete test: tp I reran the test again. This time, firefox started and at the blink of an eye, it closed again. Then I got the browser window with the message "The proxy server is refusing connections, firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections, check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct" The proxy set up (while running the test) is as follows: Manual proxy configuration/HTTP proxy: localhost, port: 9011
