Business and educational users ignored?

This has been said once in this thread, but not addressed.  It needs
to be.

Assuming all users are on the latest version, and requiring the same,
goes against the realities of corporate software management.

Whether due to QA testing before deployment, low-to-no-permissions
users, or deep-freeze usage in computer labs, often these computers
simply CANNOT auto-update.

Making such a wide-sweeping assumption that all computers must always
be up to-date seems to ignore the realities of these environments.

It would also be nice to hear from the UX lead and others suggesting
this change -- so far this discussion has been Asa vs. the community,
which doesn't exactly foster a sense of community development.
