The update internally called "5.0.1" is an update that's useful for Mac users only, if you're not on a Mac, this is not a version you need to care about at all. The Firefox release coming out today (internally "6.0") is/was in final testing before being unleashed to all users. We have multiple stages of testing, one last round being between having the versions on the mirror network and putting everything live for everyone, just to check that all download links, including those of updates, work in their final locations, so we don't have surprises when throwing the final switch(es). I think as of the moment I'm writing this, the update should run when you open the "About" window.
