we have ever done before.

The current way that we help you learn if you're up to date is that we 
give you a number. You can then compare that number to the number that's 
being reported in the press. Hopefully those numbers match up and you 
trust them. But sometimes they don't match up and you're left wondering, 
"I'm on Firefox 5 and it says that's up to date but I just read on 
Twitter that Firefox 5.1 is the latest release. What the heck?"

The plan in bug 678775 is that when you open the About view, you'll see 
a message that conveys the idea of Firefox saying to you "Hi there! I 
just checked with Mozilla 20 seconds ago and I'm happy to report that 
you're using the latest and greatest Firefox release. Go out and enjoy 
the Web!" or you'll see a message that conveys "Hey there friend. I just 
checked with Mozilla and we're on an old version here. The good news is 
that 'm installing the new one right now so everything's going to be OK."

Now, that won't be the exact language, but that's what the dialog is 
going to be communicating to users.
