I don't even think we need to do that. We can be more scary and urging 
to update with a verbal message. A number doesn't tell the user if he's 
up to date unless he actually checks to compare it to a different number 
manually.

I proposed this one above:
"You are using a Firefox release from 12 weeks ago, we can't check for 
an update but you are probably at a security risk by using it. Please 
update to a newer version."
