While I don't appreciate the plans to hide the version number, I believe your data is wrong.
html5test.com shows 288 points for Firefox 5.0 and 312 points for Firefox 6.0a2. There is no result for the final Firefox 6 as of now but I guess it will also be 312 points.
Chrome 12.0.742 has 327 points, Chrome 13.0.782 and 14.0.797 both have 329 points.
Without even going into the methodology or relevance of this and other similar tests, I don't see any reason for alarm here.
