I guess I'm missing something because it would seem to me that since the 
same version number information is in about:support as was in the About 
dialog, then their is no loss of functionality for the end-user. So, 
using your scenario, all they would need to do is look at the version 
listed in about:support and if it says version 7 or higher, they'd know 
that they had the performance improvements mentioned in the press, no?
