This is NOT what I meant.  I see NO REASON to hold features for a year. 
  If something ready, put it in.  If it's NOT ready, keep working on it, 
and wait for the next release/version.  I don't see any logic in not 
including new features until some magic date.  If they are ready, 
include them.  I don't see that any particular version/increment really 
matters as long as bug fixes, security updates, and new features are 
made available to the users as soon as they are ready.
Most of the software I use updates monthly, and some even weekly.  One 
piece of system software I use updates almost every day.
