Removal of Tabs-On Bottom

I just read a very disturbing comment in Bugzilla from Zhenshuo Fang about removing Tabs-On-Bottom. That is a very, VERY bad move. The entire point of making the tab bar a toolbar in its own right was for more customization flexibility. Now, this viable functionality is being stripped away?
