To, CC, BCC: Something more anthropologically sound

Hi,
I would even be excited about the idea of working on this.  I've done a
bunch of programming (mostly C++), and I haven't gotten involved in
opensource as of yet, but I would like to.  I've also just downloaded
Thunderbird for the first time.  I think it's very nice!

I came across this wishlist item with a thing called 'PinfoNet', which was,
well, you can read the ditty, it's about everybody sending emails around in
a world-wide network.  It's based in the way it appears to me that people
share information, informally (gossip, word-of-mouth)... Email!

Here's the low-down at the end:

" One complaint regarding existing email client software at this time, is
that there is only one fully functional address box.  For PinfoNet purposes,
it would be nice to have more than one address box, so that the names in
each box would be shared, but also, hidden from the names in each of the
other boxes. This maintains both address sharing, and address protection,
when sending a single email to members of more than one group.  This would
also show increased PinfoNet support! "

I don't know of an email reader that has more than one address group, such
that each group shares within, but sees none without, their group.

And I suppose, for legacy support, and compatibility with To and CC, am idea
that comes to mind is per line, there can be one To box and one CC box.
Each line holds addresses that are shared, but where no one sees addresses
of people not on the same line.

BCC being kept would be a BCC legacy supported.  The thing here, is that
this person sees other people's addresses.  This might make it 3 boxes per
line, or grouping (to, cc, and bcc).  Or maybe BCC makes a special
one-of-a-kind God-like line or grouping that sees everybody's addresses, and
it's as it always was. There's stuff to think about.

Thunderbird has quite a list, though, and I'm not sure what it is doing with
some of its options.  At least that's a start.  I thik it would be cool to
be able to send one email to multiple groups, where in each group they do
not see the addresses of the others.
