There are people who still run old operating systems because of some 
programs that require them and for educational purposes. I'm sure people 
would like to be able to run their favorite web browser on windows NT 4.

For beta versions I do not see much point, though, because

Some people (like me) like to test beta versions and maybe give feedback.

No, I meant like in thunderbird where there is a permanent install 
button right on the add-ons manager window and when you click it, it 
opens a window and you can select an xpi file to install it.

Seamonkey has one and I've not heard complaints about it. But of course 
it wastes time and resources so it should be removed to help free up 
1-5MB of RAM for people who have computers with about 4GB of RAM. Grin.

I wasn't talking about backing up cookies, I was saying it would be nice 
if firefox monitored them in real-time so when one was changed or 
deleted you could restore it to its previous state.

It is a great error console and it doesn't slow firefox down one bit.
