I have the opposite problem - my Internet banking site doesn't have 
http: at all, so you have to remember the https: yourself. (Their main 
website uses a different domain.) Usually I remember to select the login 
page from the autocomplete results, but sometimes I forget. Maybe the 
redirect should default to https: if you have only been to https: before.
