Yes, there is a way to do that.  If you set Firefox to default to 
blocking cookies and make exceptions to allow those that you want, you 
will have no unwanted cookies, and will not need to have Firefox clear 
cookies.  You will be able to uncheck the cookies box in the "clear 
private data" box.
