Hello,

sorry if I say this here. Because it is easier to manage ( we have >600
PC ) most of the users have to use a webmail system ( horde's imp ). A
disadvantage of webmail systems is that you can not send a mail from you
app, but have to store the file and load it into webmail.

What about a cropped mailclient with MAPI interface that does nothing
but to get the mail from the application ( word, openoffice, acrobat....
) and then send it to one of this destinations:

1) via SMTP to the mailbox of the user that is logged in to the computer
( has to ask for if required for smtp )

2) via IMAP to the Draft Box of the user that is logged in to the
computer. Has to ask for the IMAP Password

3) stores the file to a specified directory on a server

With the solutions 1 and 2 the user has a mail on horde he can forward
With the solution 3 horde ( or other webmail systems ) has to be
modified to look for attachments whenever the user creates a new mail

Every solution has the advantage that no data is stored on the client
and that the configuration in minimal ( destination server )

P.S.: we would use Thundebird if there would be a address book and
calendar with the same functions as horde and that also sore this items
on a central server and can sync via SyncML with our Nokia phones.

Thanks
Andreas
