Open Preferences, Privacy & Security, Master Passwords. The Reset 
Password button is the one that deletes the stored password database, so 
don't use it. Use the Change Password button instead. (The Change 
Password dialog will warn you that your passwords will no longer be 
protected if you don't provide a new password.)
