In the EU a new law is going to be enforced which will require each
website to inform their users about cookies, and get their consent to
accept some/most/all cookies that the website issues.

The law isn't particularly clear as to how this should be done, and as
such there is allot of confusion over the matter.

But I was wondering if the browser should be the one responsible in
telling users a bit more about the cookies (so its consistent for
every website), and then the browser could block certain cookies (a
bit like the "do not track" header)... then perhaps the website could
be responsible for providing some of that information though an XML
file.

For the purposes of discussion, I've got an example at:

And was wondering if anyone had any thoughts, or possibly connections
at the ICO (I'm in the UK) who may look at this as a better solution.
