html5 form inputs

for months and even years firefox is lacking the support of html5 form inputs. for example, the input type=range, see: http://caniuse.com/input-range this is declared as bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344618 but firefox dev just claims "other browsers make it bad". for the end user, firefox just don't make it, even bad, so firefox now hinders the use of these inputs or force the use of js patchs like html5slider: http://frankyan.com/labs/html5slider/ then, just see html5 form input tutorials, firefox lags far behind the others in term of rendering... why this problem is not taken by the horns ?
