Plugins do not do that kind of thing.  Extensions do.  Extensions for 
Firefox or Thunderbird do not usually get outdated these days.  They are 
designed not to (or the application is designed not to outdate them). 
There is an extension for Firefox called Controle de Scripts that works 
well.
