Give up - I have.

It's particularly annoying because during the download process, you
see "X MB of Y MB". All that is needed is to add code that if X never
reaches Y, then mark the download as failed (with maybe a little
leeway for rounding errors).

I was asked two or three times to verify whether the problem was still
in the latest version, but after that I gave up doing it. The feature
isn't suddenly going to magically introduce itself, don't the
developers know what bugs they fix?
