Remove Yahoo search or make it user selectable without jumping through hoops

Why did someone pick Yahoo for search in the most recent release? Seriously? Please instead make it user selectable. (from address bar or search bar, hopefully both) If the options are Yahoo or none, I would choose to uninstall Firefox. Please don't make users have to jump through hoops to restore their choice of address bar search engines... Thanks.
