How to sync sound and video with AVIRECOMPRESS

Hello,

I have some questions about AVIRECOMPRESS. I had to split an AVIFILE in 
two. Didn't recompress anything: it was a plain copy from video-frame 0 
to xx and from video-frame xx-overlap to end. First I discovered that I 
had to split both channels (video and audio) and then I discovered that 
even giving the same timing, video and audio would be unsync in the 
second half of the video. Obviously, I will always be able to trick the 
system and adjust the times in the audio channel to make it synced with 
the video channel, but it takes time...

I have also other problem: I have a mpeg compressed video. When I try to 
recompress it, I get the anoying that "cannot convert from non YUV to 
RGB24 and the result is a B&W video...
