A question on avifile

Hi folks,

I'm searching around for a simple package to read .avi
files direct on Internet using browser such as
Mozilla, etc. and/or to read them after download to a
box.  Is 'avifile' the right tool for me?

On the download section of
http://avifile.sourceforge.net/
I found following packages;
avifile-0.7.39-1.i386.rpm
avifile-devel-0.7.39-1.i386.rpm
avifile-utils-0.7.39-1.i386.rpm

Are they the essential packages for me to be installed
on the FC2 box?  Please advise.  TIA
