In my experience so far, it’s only taken a few minutes to re-author a DVD-Video directory structure (the time-consuming part being, of course, the conversion of the video to the right input format). So you accidentally blow it away, it just takes a few more minutes to get it back again. And are you really going to do anything intricate just with a sequence of interactive commands? For myself, if I’m doing anything remotely complicated, I’m going to save it in a file. In the case of DVDAuthor, that means an XML file, I’ve never even bothered to understand all the options for building the structure directly from the command line.
