Hi,

my main use case for dvdauthor is to make a quick and dirty single
movie DVD using only command line options. XML is total overkill for
that and the GUIfied programs all add unnecessary bloat.

So, I for one would opt for keeping the command line options and
possibly even expanding them, but certainly not deprecating (and
eventually removing) options that are needed to use the program at all.
