I refer to my normal workflow. In this case:
jani [bash]:~/work/Metten_kesaiset_jalkiruokaherkut-4.d$>ls -l
total 3324
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jani jani 9387 Mar 5 07:39 00+00+22.31.png
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jani jani 9387 Mar 5 07:54 00+00+33.95.png
...[listing of 270 identical png files omitted] ..
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jani jani 9387 Mar 5 07:54 00+27+57.08.png
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jani jani 112 Mar 5 07:39 palette.rgb
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jani jani 112 Mar 5 07:39 palette.ycrcb
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jani jani 38544 Mar 5 07:39 spumux.xml

The first file (00+00+22.31.png) was handled without error. The next
file (00+00+33.95.png)resulted to error.

I've made a partial cut of the source file available at
http://ru6bob.1fichier.com (~75Mb)
Containing one .rec file
and teedvd-new.sh file, which handles the demuxed .rec file. It's ugly,
evolved over the time, try not to vomit when looking at the spoiled
spagetti code in it ;).
(teedvd-new is Finnish for: do the DVD, -new version of file :) )

To duplicate my workflow, you need:
- ProjectX (available at http://project-x.sourceforge.net/ )
- spumux, mplex (dvd-author package)
- pxsup2dast (source
http://www.guru-group.fi/~too/sw/m2vmp2cut/pxsup2dast.c )
I assume pxsup2dast could be replaced with spuunmux, but haven't tried
with that. (I was not aware of spuunmux until recently)

1) java -jar ProjectX.jar inputfile.rec -demux -out your_ouputdir/
2) ./teedvd-new.sh your_outputdir/inputfile.mv2 -d

For the comment about NTSC/PAL, I'll test that one later when I have F16
up and running.
