I’m not really sure who is even responsible for the libdvdread code.
I’ve had others report that dvdunauthor would simply exit without any
message or output in some cases. libdvdread reports its own errors in
some situations, in others it simply returns a NULL result without any
indication of what went wrong.

And of course, it’s hard for me to shed light without having a copy of
the particular DVD triggering the situation.

Since you built libdvdread yourself, are you able to run GDB on
dvdunauthor so you can get an idea of which source line causes the bus
error?
