Rather they are using higher level programs that are more commonly included in distributions, with dvdauthor as a dependancy they may not even be aware of, obtained from binary mirror sources. Therefor, a better metric of dvdauthors relevance is probably the number of these higher level programs. I count around two dozen such programs in the Gentoo collection. Paul ps. I could think a few main reasons my creation of video dvds has markedly decreased in recent years; cheap capable network streaming media players, the ubiquity of HD content, and cheap obscene amounts of hard disk storage... I still occasionally make dvds in order to ship others though. pps.
