I am afraid this camera is from a Canon PowerShot age bracket where Canon did
not include remote capture support into their Powershots.

There is a third party firmware addon CHDK which can allow remote control
(also supported by libgphoto2), but it is a bit more flaky than what Canon
usually has as remote control.

You are a bit out of luck I think.
