Hello,

I try to build a photobooth on a Raspberry PI 3 with a live view function. I am already able to show a live preview via stdout with some cmd-lines found in the net:

mkfifo fifo.mjpg

gphoto2 --capture-movie --stdout > fifo.mjpg &

omxplayer fifo.mjpg --live

This works great, but when I finish the liveview with Str+C as gPhoto is suggesting, the camera stays in liveview mode. This means the mirror for the viewfinder stays in the open position.

I tried to reset the USB connection with "gphoto2 --reset" but that doesn't change anything. If I do a reboot on the RPI, I can hear the mirror switching back.

The problem is that the camera ist taking pictures in this mode, but doesn't take the flash into account.

My camera is a Canon EOS450D and I am using libgphoto2,gphoto2 Version 2.5.14.

Kind regards,

Sascha
