Actually, the project is to control several cameras simultaneously in order to shoot panoramic pictures.
So, yes, buying used cameras on eBay is a good idea, I didn’t thought about this option.
The challenge will be to find, let’s say 2 or 3 identical cameras that are largely controllable with gphoto2.
