I used a CP4300 for many years (thanks Marcus!), but not anymore. My old
notes have the following examples:

sudo gphoto2 --camera "Nikon CoolPix 4300 (Sierra Mode)" --auto-detect
--capture-image-and-download

sudo gphoto2 --camera "Nikon CoolPix 4300 (Sierra Mode)" --list-ports

It looks like (at the time) I needed to install a lot of other stuff for
the image capture and console scripted editing:

sudo apt-get install libcdk5 libncurses5-dev libpng12-dev libreadline6-dev
libslang2-dev libtinfo-dev zlib1g-dev libusb-dev libltdl-dev libexif-dev
libjpeg-dev libpopt-dev
