Capturing raw images with Canon EOS M

Hi All, I have Canon EOS M50 and I am trying to get it working for capturing raw images. I am able to take images and download them to my computer but problem is that I am getting files in CR3 format which are not readable by libraw and other photo apps. Is it possible to force the camera to take images in CR2 which is supported by many applications?
