I tried with the --wait-event command as described but still no success.

I suppose we need to get to more debugging - happy to send the debug outputs from the commands.

Are you doing --get-config on a seperate command invocation?

If yes, can you try e.g.

gphoto2 --wait-event=1s --get-config aperture

and see if that helps?

(The values are fetched by event reading and while get-config does that, it might not wait

for long enough.)
