How to avoid compiling all the other camlibs?

I've got a Canon M5, and I'd like to compile/install libgphoto2 with *only* the
canon camlib. The INSTALL file says I can do "make -C camlibs canon.la",
but this fails due to a missing ../libphoto2/libgphoto2.la. I'm assuming
there are other compilation units that must be compiled first. I could
probably work backwards and try compiling libgphoto2.la, then
libgphoto2_port and libphoto2, etc., but maybe there's an easier way?
