Lumix GX8 supported but GX7 not – could it work?

Hello everybody,

I got my hands on a Panasonic Lumix GX7 and tried to use it with gphoto2.
When connected via USB the GX7 says it's in PTP mode.
gphoto2 detects it as a Panasonic DMC-FS62.
And taking a picture does not work :(

Maybe the GX7 could work if connected via Wifi?
It is controllable with the panasonic-image-app.

If anybody had a view words of guidance =E2=80=93 they would be appreciated=
.
