Thanks Don.  I was trying to avoid having to upgrade due to all the 
problems I was having with dependencies.  The upgrade has fixed the issue.

I eventually managed to compile the rpm for 3.3.1 from source.  There were 
lots of dependencies that it didnt pick up.  I also had to add a couple of 
symbolic links for some libraries.  However, I now have a grip 3.3.1 rpm 
for Fedora core 4 on x86_64, if anyone would like it posted somewhere.
