Dear grippers, Grip 3.3.1 on Ubuntu 8. I am having problems in ripping a number of my older CDs (pre-1990) that are still in excellent condition. In some cases the CD reader audibly seeks tracks indefinitely until I force a hard-suspend onto Grip. On other occasions the CD reader runs smoothly, the reading speed indicator on the rip page remains at 0 and nothing happens. Is this an understood problem at all? I know too little about Xine and lame to do backtracking. CD plays ok, so its probably not the hardware.
