Search on sourceforge.net for the project MP3Mesa.

I should be helping with it but haven't had time to focus on that area 
of software.

One outstanding problem is with freedb.org submissions. GRIP/MP3Mesa 
always tag the material as of type "misc" which works if there isn't 
another cd already in the database with the same ID, but fails if there 
is. GRIP/MP3Mesa should expose the type and enable choosing something 
other than "misc" for cases of matching ID's.

This kind of software should be developed in close collaboration with 
the MP3/Ogg/whatever tag editing tools so that the best of user 
friendliness, text of track details details can be easily cut and paste 
and even providing a command line interface to input and output track 
details.
