Yes, there is, and yes, I agree that finding the mailing list search
feature on Sourceforge is not exactly easy.

On the mailing list site
https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/grip-users you can go to
"Grip Users Archives", and when you hover on the "Mailing Lists" title
you will hopefully see a "Search" link,
http://sourceforge.net/search/?group_id=3714&type_of_search=mlists
