Hi,

I have a query about the usage of helix media timestamps in case of RTSP streaming.
As and when the RTP packets carrying media packets are received, the RTP timestamp is used to calculate Helix TimeStamp(TS). This helix time stamp in then recorded in the "IHXPacket"/"ClientPacket" object and the packets are stored in the transport buffer. Untill this point I believe the RTP TS is not reused after it is used to calculate the HX TS.
My query is about the path ahead, ie. From transport buffer to client core buffer, then renderer, decoder.... Is RTP timestamp required in this part of the path? If yes, why can't the Helix TS calculated itself be used here?
I noticed a few place where RTP TS is used to re calculate HX TS. What is the rationale behind this?

Thanks in advance,
Rohit
