Summary: Real Producer 11 Installation Bug
Severity: S1
Status: NEW
Last changed date: 2007-08-15 10:31:21
Hardware: PC
Version: Producer 11
Tracker: Installer
Project: helix-producer
Target Milestone: Gold
Both Real Producer 10 and Real Producer 11 cannot be installed on Fedora 5 using:
realproducer_basic_11_linux_setup.sh
or
realproducer_basic_11_linux_setup.sh
It was possible installing of Real Producer 10 on Fedora 4 using:
realproducer_basic_11_linux_setup.sh
I have got output like:
"Please choose installation option (express/custom/quit) [express]:
Unpacking files...tail: cannot open `+322' for reading: No such file or directory
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
Error! Could not install RealProducer to /usr/local/realnetworks/producer11"
... and I have found out that something is wrong either with tar command that is used in "shell"
part of realproducer_basic_11_linux_setup.sh or with tar configuration on Fedora 5 or with tar
version that is tar-1.15.1 on Fedora 5 or with some another thing(s).
I have not time for exploring what is wrong and that is why I have extracted from
realproducer_basic_11_linux_setup.sh to realbasic.tar all bytes from hexadecimal position 284F to
the last byte using khexedit like hexadecimal editor. After creating realbasic.tar I have unpacked
it and installed Real Producer 11 by "copy - paste" method, and it works properly.
That is, there is no bug in Real Producer itself, but in its installation program.
